About the artist: 

Derek Sober is the 2D Department Manager and summer camp director for the Armory Art Center, and coordinates the Scholastic Art Awards for Palm Beach and Martin counties. He comes from Washington D.C. with over 9 years of public-school art teaching experience with an M.F.A. in Artisanry, though currently enjoys painting realistic portraits.
